Snow Tonight But Rain on Saturday

This evening a low pressure system sits off of Cape Cod. Snow moved in the SW part of the province earlier today where winter storm and snowfall warnings were issued this morning. Snow in the Halifax area should begin by mid evening and continue overnight with blowing snow. Snow will end near noon on Friday. Snowfall totals will range from near 15 cm in town to 20 cm along the coast.

Enjoy the snow while it lasts because on Saturday a low pressure system moves out of the Great Lakes region and passes through northern NB. Rain will begin Saturday and could briefly start out as snow.

Rain moves out for Sunday while a series of lows will pass by the coast on Monday and Tuesday.

The forecast for Halifax:

Tonight snow beginning this evening, NE winds gusting to 60 giving blowing snow. L -6

Friday snow ending near noon. L -3 H 0

Saturday rain, may start as snow briefly. L -4 H 4

Sunday a mix of sun and cloud. L 2 H 7

Monday flurries. L -3 H 0
