Monday Will Be the Best Day of the Week

As we begin a new work week we will start out on Monday with a sunny and mild day thanks to a ridge of high pressure located to our south.

On Tuesday the ridge we move off to our east as a low pressure system approaches the area from the west. This low will hang around until later in the week giving us showers up to Friday, before a ridge of high pressure moves in on Saturday clearing things out.


The forecast for Halifax:

Tonight clearing after midnight. L 0

Monday mostly sunny. H 9

Tuesday cloudy, showers later in the day. L -1 H 6

Wednesday showers. L 2 H 7

Thursday flurries or showers. L 0 H 3

Friday cloudy. L -1 H 7

Cool But Clear Tonight

The ridge of high pressure which we enjoyed today will  move to the east of the region tomorrow as a warm front crosses us later tomorrow with a chance of showers.

On Monday high pressure builds back in, giving us another mild day.

For Tuesday a trof of low pressure approaches from the west bringing showers later in the day which will continue through Wednesday as  the low passes over the province.

High pressure builds back in for Thursday and Friday.

Tonight clear. L -5 except cooler in low lying areas.

Sunday increasing cloud with a chance of showers in the late afternoon. H 4

Monday a mix of sun and cloud. L 1 H 10

Tuesday a chance of showers. L 0 H 6

Wednesday showers. L 3 H 7

Thursday mostly cloudy. L 0 H 4

Friday a mix of sun and cloud. L -1 H 6

Windy Tonight and Early Friday.

Winds will increase overnight, gusting to 90 km from the SW. After the passage of the cold front tomorrow morning they will switch to the NW and gust to 40 km in the afternoon.

On Saturday a ridge of high pressure will be located to our west and move to our east on Sunday.

On Monday a warm front crosses the area giving a chance of showers and mild temperatures.

On Tuesday a ridge of high pressure moves in from the west.


The forecast for Halifax:

Tonight Wind warning in effect, gusting to 90 km out of the south west. Rain beginning before
              morning. L 7

Friday rain ending early afternoon then mostly cloudy. 5 - 10 mm of rain. Winds gusting to 90 km in
           the early morning then switching to 20 km gusting to 40 out of the NW in the afternoon.
           Temperature falling to 2 in the afternoon.

Saturday sunny. L -6 H 2

Sunday a mix of sun and cloud. L -7 H 1

Monday cloudy with a chance of showers. Mild. L 1 H 10
